Fluorescent Label Paper
Day-glo coated paper in red, orange, green and yellow for pricing, promotions and warning labels that must be seen.
What is fluorescent label paper?
Fluorescent (day-glo) label paper is a coated paper whose surface pigment converts invisible UV light into visible light. The result is a colour that appears to glow in daylight and stays legible across a crowded shelf or a dim warehouse aisle — considerably more visible than the same hue printed in process ink.
It is normally supplied as a plain coloured facestock that you overprint with black or a single spot colour. Fluorescent pigments are not lightfast: outdoors or under strong shop lighting the colour will fade over months, so use it for promotional and short-term applications rather than permanent identification.

Frequently asked questions
- How long does fluorescent paper keep its colour?
- Indoors, typically 6–12 months. Direct sunlight can visibly fade it within weeks, so it is not suitable for outdoor or window applications.
- Can fluorescent paper be direct thermal printed?
- No. Direct thermal requires a heat-sensitive coating. For coloured thermal labels, use pre-printed direct thermal stock instead.
- Which colour is most visible?
- Fluorescent orange and green have the highest perceived contrast in daylight; fluorescent red reads strongest under artificial warehouse lighting.
