Metallized Paper Label Material

Metallized paper label material is a paper facestock of roughly 70–85 gsm carrying a vacuum-deposited aluminium layer in silver or gold, finished gloss or matte. It delivers a genuine metallic sheen at a lower cost than metallized film while keeping paper's conformability, stiffness and clean die-cutting behaviour on standard converting lines.

It is widely used for beer and wine labels, spirits neck bands, cosmetics cartons and premium promotional packs where a reflective ground lifts the design; converters often combine it with embossing, spot varnish and dense spot colours.

Check ink and varnish adhesion to the metallized surface, plan for how metallics affect barcode readability, and choose an adhesive suited to glass, tin or board and to your filling temperature. Paper-based metallized stock is not waterproof — ice buckets, condensation and wet wiping call for metallized film, confirmed with sample testing.

As a paper facestock, metallized paper is intended for dry, room-temperature retail and storage conditions; humidity or condensation can dull the metallic layer or lift the label. For beverages that see condensation or refrigeration, choose silver metallized BOPP film instead.

Metallized paper runs on white glassine, PET or CCK/kraft liner, matrix-stripped and die-cut to your label shape, on 25 mm (1 in) or 76 mm (3 in) cores. PET liner is recommended for high-speed application to keep the thin metallized face flat through the die-cutting station.
